5. Providing your home (or other non-office location) IP address

To connect to the Ivo server from a location outside your organisation's main office you will need to provide us with the "IP address" of the location you are connecting from.

To find out your IP address, open this website - www.whatismyip.com - and send us the "IPv4" address, as pictured here -

We will then update our security so that you can access the server and will advise you once this is done. During normal office hours this typically happens within a few minutes.

Note, you need to do this for all external locations you will be connecting to the Ivo server from.

IP addresses change from time-to-time -

And when that happens you will need to provide the new IP address to us.  You will know if this has happened as you will see the following screen when attempting to connect to the Ivo server -

Why do you need to do this -

All locations / devices on the internet have a unique 'internet address' (just like your home has a unique physical address).  The Ivo server rejects any attempted connection from an internet address that we have not specifically allowed. This provides a very high level of security for the Ivo server.

Is there a way around this -

Yes. Your organisation can opt to provide you with a two-factor authentication (note, this is a paid option that organisations can provide their staff) then. If you feel this is necessary for your circumstances then please contact your organisation's Ivo administrator and ask them to email us to authorise this.
